If you were to take a photography workshop, what would you hope was offered? What you would expect to pay? What would you desire to get out of it?
I have had several emails from readers asking me if I offer any kind of photography classes/workshops, and to be honest, I had never thought about it before. Me? What do I know about photography? Oh, wait...I guess I know a little.
I have learned a lot over the past 15 years or so since I first really got serious about photography. And you know me...I'm always THRILLED about sharing what I've learned. I love it. I love seeing that light bulb go off in someone's head, the same way it has in mine. But when you start asking people to PAY for that knowledge, it gets tricky.
Is this something YOU would ever pay for? If so, what is it you would be looking to learn? I have to say that there is a LOT you can get out of one-on-one tutoring with someone who knows the ins and outs. It would be awesome to work with just a couple of people at once, get to know THEIR cameras, answer THEIR specific questions, and really help THEM.
So, I ask again - is this something YOU would consider doing? If so, why? If not, why not? I'm SO interested in your responses.
Oh, and if this applies - would you ever be interested in one-on-one Photoshop tutoring? Workshops? Whatever?

For me personally I would like help in finding a suitable camera to get me started. I love taking photographs and occasionally take a good one that I really think yes I would enter this in a competition. I never do though - lack of confidence. I would then like advice on composition (especially portraits) - I learn best by watching and doing not reading a book so personal tuition would be useful.
It is very difficult to put a price on that. I think in most cases it depends on your reputation. Unfortunately, for me I don't think I can afford to indulge my wish yet.

I would love to take a photography workshop. WOULD LOVE IT! But every single one that I've seen offered in my area is SO expensive. There's no way I could afford to go. We're talking over $500 just for a day or two. Now, if you're target audience is profession photographers, maybe they'd pay that. But gees, I don't think the normal person can pay that!
I do think you'd be good at it though! You seem to know a TON!
Hi Bobbi, I think that you would do an awesome job at teaching. Your photos are al os gorgeous and you know so much about photography. So far I have taken one class at a school near to where I live. the course was 2 nights a week for 6 weeks and I only paid 155.00. It was a very good deal and I learnerd about how to use my manual mode, the the time value, apeture etc... I still feel that I would love to learn more about lighting. But right now I am saving up for a couple of lenses that I want so not sure I could afford to pay for an expensive class right now. Maybe after the holidays.Please keep us informed as to what you might do.
Oh and other things that I want to learn ar using prestes in Lightroom and how to install actions in PSE. :)

I love playing around with my camera, but it is not a fancy one. Until I get a DSLR where I can change the lens, I'll just stick with my tinkering. Howerver, I have purchased Photoshop Elements and would love to have tips on how to get started from a beginners stand point. I take lots of photos - mostly of nature and want to create some memory books. I buy digital scrapbook kits all the time, but have never gotten up the nerve to try any. Maybe a book for purchase on your site would be good. Something for the absolute beginner, then the novice. You could put your tutorials together (some of the ones you haven't already so generously shared). I think some of the videos I've gotten from other sites are around $4.00 each. I would pay $25 for a beginner's set of tutorials.
