A Date with Daddy and a Zoo LO!

TJ is in a group through church called "Achievement Days" and they meet together (girls ages 8-11 and their leaders) twice a month to have lessons and do activities that are meant to strengthen their character, talents, and bonds with one another. They also have a booklet filled with different goals they can set and achieve! I love this program!

Anyway, TJ has been working very hard at getting her goals done, and there was one goal in particular that she has been ITCHING to do for sometime. We knew it had to be done while the weather was still nice enough. She planned out a picnic and bike ride to do with her daddy. Just the two of them.

She made out a menu plan for her picnic, wrote out a grocery list, and invited her daddy. The day of the picnic, she hurried home from school, showered, and got busy packing the lunch. She made her daddy's favorite sandwich (roast beef with horse radish), and packed HER favorite thing - diced cantaloupe. She also included some salt and vinegar chips and some pop for good measure:)

She packed it all nicely in her little cooler, got her bike and helmet ready to go, and waited for daddy to get home from work. I need to mention that her daddy BIKES to and from work everyday, so for him to agree to another bike ride was very selfless of him :)

They picked a beautiful park not far from us to have their picnic, then set off on the paved bike paths for a nice bike ride.
They stopped for a bit to feed the ducks who were VERY friendly! TJ said they came close enough for her to pet (though she values her fingers too much to actually touch them).

Daddy even had a great time. He said they had such great conversations together. One of them went something like this:

Daddy: What's the toughest part of being the oldest sister?

TJ: Cleaning up after the little girls!

Daddy: Do you wish you were in another family?

TJ: NO WAY! I have the best family!

And I've got the BEST TJ!! She is truly a sweetheart, and growing up every day. She loves to be the big helper.. most of the time :) She was so proud of herself for planning this date and with how well it came out. She is NOTHING if not organized, like her mother (hee hee).

Speaking of organized. I'm currently swimming from head to toe in STUFF. I'm cleaning out my hall closet and had NO IDEA there was so much room in that thing! I also hate that everything has to get messier before it gets cleaner. Maybe that's to motivate me to FINISH the job!

Moving on....

I scrapped a few more pages. This is a layout about our trip to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. As you can see, I tried to fit a bazillion photos on this layout, BUT I tried to balance it out with less on the second page.

I also tried to be all grungy and make a tag using Tim Holtz grungeboard and a chipboard tag. Yes? No?
I also did this 2 page spread about our trip to the children's gardens and Salt Air. Nothing too spectacular here, just trying to get more pages done. (You can click on the image below to see it bigger).

Now, I'm off to finish organizing and get some supper ready! Thanks for popping by!

That Achievement Day program is wonderful. I am sad that Cami only has a few months left in that program. Seems strange. However, it will be good practice for YW's.

TJ did an awesome job on her date with her dad. Way to go!

Now I am off to do more planning for our trip to Utah. Your scrapbooking pages sure give the itch to get going on my lists. ; )
