My Style? Challenge and Blog Candy!

**CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED! I WILL POST A WINNER TOMORROW MORNING! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!**

ETA: You do NOT need to be a scrapbooker to enter this contest - Just leave a comment and you're entered! I'll be posting a pic of the candy tomorrow most likely and it's SO YUMMY! AND it's not just for scrapbookers... If you leave a link to your blog with an entry written about YOUR style, you'll be entered twice! Simple as that! Can't wait to get to know you better!

Once again inspired by the Goodiebox girls, I got to work creating a couple of layouts using stamps. I don't own many stamps, other than letter stamps and a few odds and ends. But I was amazed at the versatility of these tiny rubber and acrylic beauties. If you are ever stuck in a scrapbooking rut, try checking out different blogs for challenges. They really seem to get me thinking out of the box and help me create. I especially needed that lately as I've got a bunch of photos sitting around waiting to be scrap booked and my new years challenge hanging over my head to stay caught up.

The first layout I did was about my mommy time out that I so desperately needed! I used stamps for the journaling squares, and those little black dots to the right of the circle.
I used this awesome clock stamp, that I LOVE. It's one of those rare things I splurged on for just ONE project a while back. But, I've been able to use it a few times since then, so it was worth it :)
I used some letter stamps with red ink to stamp out the word "OUT" onto white cardstock, then I cut out each letter, using foam squares to make them pop a bit. It was a great solution for not having any red letter stickers.

Finally, I felt the page needed a bit of something to the right of the photos, so I used a couple of stamps to make a pattern to fill in that space. I like how it turned out.
The second layout I did didn't use as many stamps, but I just love how it turned out. Okay, small explanation of this post - the title is "Style ?" with the question mark added purposely. I have never considered myself a woman of style. I usually get by on cast offs, Value Village finds, or whatever is on clearance at Wal-Mart. I often feel "thrown together" rather than "put together" and you know, I'm tired of it! I want to express my style - if I have one, or discover it if I don't. After a photoshoot, when I had some money in my pocket, I went into a local trendy store and bought a new outfit right off the front display. That's right - no clearance rack at the back of the store this time (don't get me wrong, I love a great deal - the store was having an all over sale that day) and I just love wearing it! I really feel like this time I went out and instead of settling, I was able to get something that is ME ME ME!! I love it and feel so "myself" in it. Actually, it's the outfit I'm wearing in the first layout, too. LOL! I guess I really do love it.

Anyway, that's what this layout is about. My growing awareness of my sense of style. YES! My favorite part of the layout is the chandelier (am I right?). I stamped the chandelier image with staz on ink onto a transparency sheet, cut it out, then hung it from the top of a circle that I cut out of the background cardstock. I love it.
I also used letter stamps for the title.

So, I extend a challenge to you! Scrapbook a page about YOUR personal style. What is it? Do you have one? If you aren't a scrapbooker (heaven forbid :P) then blog about it, write about it in your journal, whatever! I want to see your pages, read your blogs, and give away some fun stuff! I haven't decided what I'll give away, but it will be something fabulous. How do you enter? Leave a comment! If you leave a comment with a link to your blog entry or layout you'll be entered twice!! YIPPEE! I'll draw a winner on Friday - so that gives you some time, and I'll post a picture of the blog candy later on this week. So, let's see your style!

Cute page!! How did I miss this post?!? Your making me want to get my paper out and scrap. If only I had a scrapbook store to shop at here. But there is none. So I'm kinda sunk on new products until I can get out of town!

My scrapbooking style is very "in the moment". If I am feeling girly I love to use flowers, if I am feeling more conservative and quiet I will use basic papers and not alot of embelishments. So in the end, my style is always changing however it is always a reflection of me in that particular point in my life. My blogs address is www.lindsaydawnesthoughts.blogspot.com/
please feel free to stop by anytime!
Great contest Bobbi and fabulous prizes!

Hi - my scrapbook style is very simple - very simple! My main goal is get the photos on a page and into an album with journaling - then later I sometimes go back and add embellishments to the pages.
