Take 12 - January!

Okay, I'm about to toot my own horn for a second. I am pretty brilliant. Yep. A huge smarty pants! I know I have gushed and gushed about the Take 12 Challenge from Ella Publishing, and I gladly went about my day on January 12, snapping photos of random pieces of my life. I then 2 of their amazing templates (LOVE LOVE LOVE) to create this two page layout in a snap! And I mean, a snap. This came together in about 15 minutes, including the journaling.

Now, why I feel like such a smarty pants is, I am also doing  "Project Life" (one photo a day for an entire year) and this year I'm using Becky Higgin's "Clementine" kit. Okay, so here was my brainstorm. Humor me, okay? I saw that Becky had teamed up with Jessica Sprague to create digital papers and elements that coordinate with the physical "Project Life" kits. SO, I used the digital papers and elements from the digital "Clementine" kit WITH the templates from Ella's "Take 12" challenge so that I can now include my take 12 pages in my "Project Life" album and it will all coordinate! I simply printed my two 8.5X11 "Take 12" pages at Staples, then inserted them into a page protector and popped them right in my "Project Life" album.

I love how it looks, and I can keep all of my photos from the year in one place. LOVE!! Yes, I get excited when I can be matchy-matchy.

It is not too late to join in with the "Take 12" challenge! There are a few ways to play along. Here are some suggestions from the Ella Blog:
1. Fake it for January
For the month of January, take your first 12 photos on the 13th or 15th or even 27th of the month. You don't have to tell anyone! (And we won't tell either...) Then make sure you join their email list, so you'll get a reminder to take your photos on the 12th of the month every other month this year.

2. Start Any Month You'd Like
You don't HAVE to start the Take Twelve photography challenge in January. You can go from February to February, or June to June. It would be extra fun to start on your birthday month or your anniversary month, and do the Take Twelve challenge for one year from that date.

3. Focus on 12 Photos From Your Whole Month
You can also do the Take Twelve challenge in hindsight and focus on highlights from the whole month. In other words, at the end of each month, look back through your photos, choose your 12 favorites, and make a page. The Take Twelve Guided Inspiration Kit and Take Twelve Templates will still help you scrapbook your 12 photos in style, no matter what day you took them.

Hop on over the the Ella Blog to get 10% off the kit (for all of you procrastinators out there...you know who you are! ;)
